Rabatten gælder kun i dag d.10. december.

30 DAYS YOGA CHALLENGE

I’m currently doing a 30 day yoga challenge. That does not need much explanation, it’s simply yoga each day for 30 days straight. But, I want to tell a little bit more about my experience with it!

I was inspired by Cecilie Blaksted and her weekly challenges, where she does something for an entire week which I found really inspirering. Cecilie also recommended this inspirering TED talk about trying something new for 30 days. I really wanted to get back into my yoga practice again, and saw this as a perfect opportunity for doing just that. Therefore, I decided to do a 30 days yoga challenge (because clever people say that it takes around 30 days (more precisely, 21 days) to establish a new habit).

I am now on day 28 (I started November 1st), and I’ve only skipped 1 day because I was simply too tired after work one Sunday. So because I skipped one day, I’ll instead just continue for 1 more day – luckily I have a Christmas yoga event with Cathrine on Saturday (1st of December), so that is just perfect!

So, how has it been?

It has really been great! I’m feeling way more motivated to move my body, and do things, and I just love the feeling of stretching my body. I guess I’ve always loved that, since I’ve been dancing for several years when I was younger, so it feels so good to do it regularly. And I’m for sure planning on doing yoga quiet regularly after this challenge is done.

What challenge did I follow?

I followed ‘Yoga with Adriene’s 30 days yoga challenge‘ (free on youtube), but in reality you could just choose whatever you want. Take a random yoga video each day, go to yoga classes in your local yoga center, or do freestyle yoga practice at home if you are more experienced. I really like Adriene’s challenge, since she is so down to Earth and gives several options if you do not feel like something hardcore and instead want a more chill pose, and her videos are very manageable since they range from 12-40 minutes, but they are not too long for everyday practice, which makes it much easier to keep it a daily routine.

I can for sure recommend a 30 days yoga challenge! Both if you are experienced with yoga and just want to get back into your practice again, but especially also if you are totally new to yoga, then this is a great way to get into it.

Have you tried a 30 day yoga challenge? Or, have you tried other challenges? I’m really hooked on trying new things for a week or a month. I’m considering a ‘no TV for a week’, ‘no sugar’, ‘go for a walk each day for a week’, ‘photo challenge’ etc. But I would love recommendations and inputs from you guys!

WRITE A LETTER OF GRATITUDE

Gratitude. I have written so much about this topic before, but it truly is wonderful to show and feel gratitude, for both the bigger and the smaller things in life. One of the best practices I have come across is to write a letter of gratitude.

When I first discovered ‘the power’ of gratitude, one of the exercises that had the biggest impressions on me and my life, was to write gratitude letters to people who have had an impact on my life. It could both be positive and negative impacts, the important thing was just to write letters to people who had taught me something important about life, and who had had an impact on my life and made me who I am.

In the beginning I wrote these letters for myself, so the people I wrote to never received these words of gratitude, but just the feeling of expressing my gratitude towards these different people had a huge impact on my life. Whether it was for being grateful for what certain people had taught me, or if it was to forgive someone for something they had done which had affected me.

I wrote letters (in my diary), to all kinds of people. To my old Danish teacher in elementary school for cheering on me to “never stop writing“, to my dancing teachers who I looked so much up to when I was younger, to people in high school who was just awesome, to my family members (mom, dad, sis etc.), to my mom’s cousins’ who treated me with so much love like I was their own daughter, to people who disappointed me or just showed me how I did personally not want to be like, to my boyfriend whom showed me true love and happiness, to all the amazing authors who have inspired me with their stories – and so many other people.

“We met for a reason, either you’re a blessing or a lesson” – Frank Ocean

Later on I started to share more of these letters with the people I really loved. I love expressing gratitude and love in the form a personal letter, whether that be to my mom, sister, dad, boyfriend or my friends. The best thing is to see their responses, and see people get touched by my gratitude for them – there is really no better feeling in this world. I can highly recommend to share those words that you might have inside your head, with people that mean something to you. Just think about how happy and grateful you get, when someone says or writes something kind to you.

Try this Gratitude Practice Yourself

  • Write a letter of gratitude to 10 people who have had an impact on your life.
Remember, you don’t have to show these letters to anyone else than yourself – but if you feel like it, I can definitely recommend sharing the letters with those you love.

BREAK DOWN BIGGER PROJECTS INTO SMALLER TASKS

I was asked the other day about what to do when you start to feel overwhelmed in regard to school. I for sure feel overwhelmed from time to time as well, and whenever that happen I try to break down bigger projects into smaller tasks.

Break down big things into smaller, more concrete things

It’s really a simple thing to do, yet something we can often tend to forget about. You start with your big goal or project, fx I’m soon going to write my Master thesis, which for sure can seem a bit overwhelming since we’re going to write 120 pages in total, and that can seem very overwhelming when you haven’t begun yet.

Then you start to break down this big project into all the small components that the project consists of, fx:
– find a case
– read relevant literature
– take notes
– make surveys and interviews
– make a structure
– find relevant literature, answers etc. for each section
– write each section
– make references
etc.

Suddenly, instead of just thinking “I need to write this big project and I really don’t know where to start“, it gets much more manageable, and you can start to take 1 thing at a time, which seems less overwhelming.

Just remember to break things down int0 very small and manageable tasks and not too abstract things. Fx if you are in school and you are making a to-do list, don’t just write “read homeworks” on your daily to-do list – write “read chapter 5 in book X”. This makes your task way more simple and easy, and ready to work on.

This tip doesn’t only work for school projects or homeworks, it can also work for fx working out, planning a birthday, writing a book etc. Just sit down and figure out all the smaller steps you need to take in order to get to your bigger goal. Write them all down, and then take one step at a time. Once you have finished one step, then go on to the next and so forth. Eventually you will have finished the entire project/reached your goal!

HOW TO FIND YOUR SOUL SISTERS

Finding people that are like yourself and have the same interests and passions as you is absolutely wonderful – but, how do you find them?

Today I want to talk about how to find people that are interested in the same thing as you are and have the same passions, more accurately said, how to find your soul sisters.

1. Get to know yourself first

Before you can attract any of the right kind of people into your life, you first of all need to know yourself. You need to know what you like, what you don’t like, what you are really passionated about etc.

Do some soul searching; read books, try new hobbies, journal. Find your own interests first.

If you don’t do this, then you are likely to just follow what everyone around you does, and that might not be something which is aligned with who you really are as a person. So a very good first step is to first of all get to know yourself.

2. Share your passions

How should people be able to find you, if you do not show your real interests and passions? You might have an Instagram account showing all the parties yo go to, even though you most of all just enjoy drinking tea at home, having great talks, journalling and watching documentaries.

But, if you portray yourself as someone who does the opposite just because you think that is what society wants of you, then how on Earth are the people who have the same interests as you, going to find you? Good question, they aren’t, because what you share and show is not who you really are.

Once you start sharing your real interests, thoughts, ideas, passions – others with the same interests can find you and you can connect. This can be a hard one, because what are other people going to think about you liking ‘yoga, Chinese medicine, herbal teas, crystals etc.’? This is where you need to step outside your comfort zone, and not care so much about what other people might think of you. Be true to yourself, and to who you are as person, and what your interests are – and eventually, the right people will find you.

Start going to events which are exactly in alignment with your interests, whether that be starting a yoga practice, going for a sustainable event, or going to hear an inspirational talk from a person you admire!

3. Take action and reach out

Finding new soul sisters is not something that just happens. However, I gotta say Instagram is such a great platform to find people with similar interests, just use relevant hashtags and then you can very easily find new people.

But, how do you go from being ‘Instagram friends’ to ‘in real life friends’?

You gotta take action.

I have gotten 2 of my amazing friends through Instagram. The first one reached out to me and asked if we should get a cup of something together, and so we did, now we have been friends for over a year. The other I reached out to, and now we have also been friends for a long time – and now all 3 of us hang out together as well, because we share the same interests.

Really, just try to reach out to people – the worst thing that can happen is that they say no thank you, but the best thing that can happen is that you get a new friend for life!

Have you tried meeting people through Instagram or other kinds of social media? Or, have you considered reaching out to someone?

MY SUMMER READING LIST

I’m always on the hunt for new exciting books to read, and if you are a bookworm, just like me, then you might be too. So I thought I would share some of the books that I plan on diving into this Summer. I might not come around all of them, or I might add some other books, but these are the ones I would for sure love to read!

When I was younger I participated in my local library’s competition where you had to read 5 books and then you could pick 1 book for free (such a nerd, but I absolutely loved it! And hey, books are just amazing!) – anyone else who did that when they were younger? Anyway, let’s get into my Summer reading list!

Sluk – Kunsten at overleve i en digital verden – Imran Rashid

(This book is in Danish).

Waking Up in 5D – Maureen J. St. Germain

A book about how we are all transitioning from the third dimension and waking up to the higher vibrations and abilities of the 5th dimension. The book is about how to develop a Higher Self connection, increase your sensitivity to dimensional signatures and consciously choose 5D, where love is the governing force.

Sæt Livet Fri – Den revolutinerende healingteknik EFT, der styrker krop, sind og sjæl – Nick Ortner

(This book is in Danish, but can be bought in English “The Tapping Solution”).

The Food Medic For Life – Dr. Hazel Wallace

I’ve been following Hazel Wallace on Instagram for a while and have been listening to her podcast and I find her really inspirering, so when I found out she had written a book about health and filled with food recipes I had to get it. I’m looking forward to diving into this and try out some of the recipes.

Intelligente Celler – Bruce Lipton

(This book is in Danish, but can be bought in English; “The Wisdom of Your Cells”).

The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga – Bernie Clark

This book was recommended to me by my yoga-boss Cathrine. It’s an in-depth book about the philosophy and practice of Yin Yoga.

Kiss the Ground – How the food you eat can reverse climate change, heal your body & ultimately save our world – Josh Tickell

How can I not read this book simply just based on this amazing title? I heard about the book in one of Melissa Ambrosini’s podcast episodes where the Author of the book was interviewed and I immediately wrote it down on my reading list. Well, the title says most of what it is about, but more precisely it should be about the importance of our soil that we grow our food in.

Rise Sister Rise – A guide to unleashing the wise, wild woman within – Rebecca Campbell

This book is a call to arms for women yo rise up, tell their truth and lead. It is a guide to co-creating a whole new archetype for women in these awakening times – a woman who does not keep herself small in order to make others feel more comfortable, a woman who knows that she is not her body weight, her sexual partner or her career. A women who understands the true meaning of sisterhood, and that alone we are strong but together we are fierce.

Money and the Law of Attraction – Learning to attract wealth, health and happiness – Ester & Jerry Hicks

One of the leading books about the powerful Law of Attraction. I’ve already read ‘The Secret‘ which was groundbreaking for me, and I’ve understood the basic principles of the law of attraction, but this book should really go into depth with the concept, so I’m very excited to dive into this.

The Big Leap – Conquer your hidden fear and take life to the next level – Gay Hendricks

Hendricks reveals a simple yet comprehensive program for overcoming our one barrier to happiness and fulfilment, providing a clear path for achieving our true potential and attaining not only financial success but also success in love and life.

The Power of Habit – Why we do what we do in life and business – Charles Duhigg

The book dives into the scientific discoveries that explain why habits exist and how they can be changed.  The Power of Habit contains an exhilarating argument: the key to exercising regularly, losing weight, being more productive, and achieving success is understanding how habits work. By harnessing this new science, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives.

Linchpin – Seth Godin

This book is about you – your choices, your future, and your potential to make a huge difference in whatever field you choose. There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labour. Now there’s a third team: the linchpins. These people figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art. Linchpins are the essential building blocks of great organisations. They may not be famous but they’re indispensable. And in today’s world, they get the best jobs and the most freedom.

Have you read any of these books? And, what are you going to read this Summer? Let me know! I’m always looking for new books to add to my reading list!

3 PRACTICES THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Today I want to share with you, 3 practices that have literally changed my life! The practices are so simple, yet so life changing and amazing. And if you have never tried them before, you will have so much fun trying it out and a whole new world will open up for you.

So, let’s get into these amazing practices!

Gratitude

The first one you will most likely be familiar with if you have followed me for just a little while, and that is: showing and feeling gratitude. I first learned about this when I read the book ‘The Secret‘* (affiliate link) for the first time back in 2012 (where I magically saw the book in a bookstore in London and bought it right away – that book has impacted my life in such a positive way, I can not recommend it enough!). Here I was introduced to the concept of showing gratitude for the things you have in your life. I learned about how I was not going to be able to get ‘more’ (things, love, money etc.) in my life, if I didn’t start to appreciate and be grateful for what I already had.

In the book there is a 30 day practice where you get a new task everyday, and one of the tasks was to write down 3 things every single day that you were grateful for. I started doing this practice, and in the beginning I had such a had time thinking about things to write, because I thought it needed to be something big, but when I learned that there are SO many things to be grateful for, then my lists became longer and longer!

You can literally be grateful for everything in your life: the air you breathe, the food you eat, the water you drink, buying another a present, having a home, having a job etc. Once you start paying attention to all the wonderful things you already have in your life, an abundance of things will come to you. Like attract like, and if you are grateful and show gratitude, you will only get more to be grateful for. On the other hand, if you focus on all the things you ‘lack’ in your life, then there won’t come more good things in your life.

Ps, if you think I’m just crazy, then just try google it, and you’ll quickly find out that some of the greatest people on this planet (Oprah for example) practice and believe in this as well.

Visualising & Manifesting

Visualisation is the act of imagining something which you do not have yet, and really feeling as if you already have it. Our minds are so amazing, they can imagine things which are not there yet, and we can actually feel the joy, love or whatever we want to feel without having the things which we think will bring us this emotion. The practice of visualisation is about becoming clear about what you want in life, and for this practice you can make a list (*I will cover this in the next point), or you can make a vision board.

A vision board is where you have a blank piece of paper (or you can make it on your computer), and then you find a lot of pictures, words etc. that symbolises what you want in life, and how you want to feel. That could be people smiling, pictures of the places you want to travel to, your dream apartment, words like ‘love’, ‘happiness’ etc. – exactly what YOU want in life. Then you make a nice collage, and then you look at this collage every single day and feel how it would feel to have these things in your life. Such a simple, yet very powerful practice.

I have made several vision boards over the years, and it is amazing to look back at them and see the things which have ‘come true’, or realise that your dreams might have completely changed – then you just make a new vision board which is more in alignment with your present needs, wants and desires.

Script Writing

Script writing is almost the same as vision boards, except this is about writing the things you want in life, rather than making a visual collage. A script is where you write – in present tense – what you want.

Let me explain that. You shall not write: “I want to find the love of my life”, because then you send out a signal that it is something you are still searching for, and then you will stay in the process of searching. Instead, you need to write:
“I have found the love of my life and we tell each other every single day how much we love each other”. So, you write as if you already have it. And really feel when you write and read it.

You can change your script as often as you like. Just remember to look at it often, and read it and really feel as if you already have it.

I cannot tell you the amount of things I have written down on a piece of paper that have come true in my life – just some examples; my boyfriend, our apartment, some of my friends, winning the Danish championsship in showdance with my dancing team, travelling to lots of countries, my job etc.

Some people might say that “well, that is not because of some sort of magic that these things happened to you, that is just you who made it happen“, and that might be true – but I like to believe in everyday magic, and really – does it matter? As long as it works. And seriously, no harm can happen with these practices.

At least I know that my life has become more fun, more filled with joy, happiness, love and everyday magic after having found these practices and incorporated them into my life – and my hope with this post is that you might discover something new which can change your life for the better as well.

Have you heard about these practices before? Do you practice them yourself? Or, is it the first time you learn about them? – and in that case, is it something you want to start practicing?
