DEODORANT WITHOUT ALUMINIUM

If you do not want to make your own deodorant, you can just buy one. The other day I visited Isangs and I bought their new deodorant for both myself and my mom. And there was a very special reason for that.

I have recently watched the documentary ‘The Aluminium Age‘, which is about how there is aluminium in so many products today, and how it affects us in a negative way. A lot of deodorants today contains aluminium, and often aluminium is one of the main ingredients in a deodorant. If you check the ingredients list on a product, you can see which ingredients there are the most of in it, by looking at the things that comes first on the ingredient list.

In this documentary they show a connection between aluminium and alzheimers, breast cancer and the reason for why so many people have a hard time getting pregnant today. It’s truly scary, and definitely not a risk I want to take – and I would also like my family to avoid these things. So, therefore I bought an aluminium free deodorant for my mom, after having looked through the ingredients of her other deodorants.

The deodorant from Isangs is a little bit different from conventional deodorants. You have to smear it under your armpit yourself. But, it’s only filled with clean and natural ingredients which do not harm you in any way.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN DEODORANT

1 spsk natron
1 spsk kokosolie

This recipe I’ve completely stolen from Lauren Singer from Trash is for Tossers. It is a recipe for how to make your own natural deodorant. I’ve just made this myself the other day, and I’m excited to try out if it actually works, which I of course will report back about.

Recipe for deodorant
2 tbsp of arrowroot powder
1 tbsp of baking soda
1 tbsp of coconut oil
1 tbsp of sheabutter
A few drops of your own choice of essential oil

You start out by mixing arrowroot, baking soda, coconut oil and shea butter in a double boiler, and stir it around until it becomes liquidy. Then you add a few drops of essential oil of your own choice, I used 2 drops of tea tree oil in mine, because I’m not a huge fan of deodorants with a strong smell. Then you pour it up into a glass which can be closed, and put it into the fridge for about 20 minutes until it has hardened. Then you can just put it under your armpit and voila, there you have a homemade natural deodorant!
