It’s Monday and you know what that means – time to look back at some everyday happiness from the past week!
I’ve been fuelling myself with my favourite green smoothie almost daily!
I’ve been practicing yoga at home, and at Cathrine’s yoga class Thursday evening at Yogacentralen <3
My boyfriend and I have booked a trip to Alicante, Spain, this Summer and I’m looking so much forward to it! If you have good suggestions for things/places to see, where to eat, sustainable shops etc. then please share them with me! I would love to know since I’ve never been there before
Okay so this isn’t from the past week but this upcoming week, but I just thought I wanted to announce it again. Emma, Johanne and I are going to hold a speech (Danish) about how you can live more sustainable at Fredensborg Bibliotek April 12th 7pm – if you are nearby, come and join!
Saturday some of my best friends from high school came over for brunch and birthday celebration, and it was so good to see them again <3
I started Sunday out with picking up trash at Amager Strandpark with Clean Up Copenhagen and these 3 lovely women! We had the most beautiful sunny weather! Where should we hold the next TRASH & TALK event?
After picking up trash at Amager, I went straight to The Organic Club at Vesterbro for the Sustain Yearly pick-up party. It was so great, so many lovely women, the new magazine, ice tea, the sun was shinning and I spend the next couple of hours talking with Ida in the sunshine – what a lovely day!

The beautiful magazine <3 I’m so grateful for having written something in such a beautiful magazine which is all about how you can live a more sustainable life. And a big congrats to lovely Sustain Daily for making this magazine and for spreading sustainable inspiration to so many people!
It’s Monday and time to look back at some everyday happiness from the past week, which was the Easter holiday!
The past week was so lovely. It consisted of time to wind down, relax and not think too much about school and assignments. Time spend with friends, family, selfcare and birthday celebration (because I turned 24).
How was your Easter holiday?
I started this week with the intention of going to the Botanical Garden with 2 of my friends, but apparently it was closed. So instead we went for a little walk in Ørstedsparken
I also collected up some trash in the Kings Garden with my friend. Btw, I’ve just created a new TRASH & TALK event with Clean Up Copenhagen, so if you want to come and have a good time and pick up trash from nature, then join this Sunday!
I also drank hot chocolate with my friend <3
This towel was another lovely birthday gift <3 I also did a lot of selfcare this week; at home facial steams, gua sha facial massage, oil massage, dry brushing and lots of tea and reading
I got this new basket for my plant as one of my birthday gifts <3
I bought this lovely shirt (secondhand) from one of my sweet friends, and had a hot coconut chocolate with her at Souls on my birthday <3 And the beautiful necklace was a birthday gift from my boyfriend <3
Another birthday gift was this cork yoga block. And this Saturday I was to Cathrine’s yoga & vegan Easter lunch event where we also did some exercises with a yoga block, and it just feels so good, so I’m going to do more of those exercises at home as well!
What is self care?
Basically, in all its simplicity it means to take care of yourself. “You can’t pour from an empty cup” as the saying goes. You cannot give fully to others before you make sure that you are well and feeling good yourself. Therefore it is so important to remember yourself and listen to your own body’s needs. Do you feel completely stressed out and filled up? Have you spend time with too many people the entire day? Have you fuelled your body with good vitamins and nutrients? Have you gotten enough sleep?
If you start to really listen, your body will easily tell you what you need. And, you should learn to listen to it and then accommodate to those needs. If you’re feeling completely overwhelmed by spending too much time with others, then take some time for yourself to just relax and just be alone. Take a bath, just lay on the couch, read a good book. Whatever you need.
It is so important to take care of yourself. And even though I love to-do-lists and being productive, I also know that if I don’t take time for some self-care, then I’ll eventually end up burning out which won’t do any good at all.
Here is a quote that I love:
“The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself. Because no matter what happens, you will always be with yourself“.
So, as the quote goes, the only person you are sure to be with for the rest of your life is yourself, so be sure to take care of yourself and be happy and content with your own company and who you are.
Next I will share some of my favourite self care tips with you and hopefully you will find some inspiration to tune in with yourself and listen to what you need and then remember to take some time just for you.
My favourite self care tips
- take a warm bath
- make your skincare ritual a nice part of your evening routine, really take your time and enjoy it
- make a nice cup of hot tea, a matcha latte, chai or hot chocolate
- go for a walk and breath in the fresh air
- move your body
- find a good movie or serie and just completely relax on the couch with a blanket and a cup of something good
- take time to make some delicious food
- journal, write out your thoughts, get them out of your head
- dance around to your favourite music
- spend some quality time with someone close to you, and just talk and share what’s on your heart and mind
- learn to say ‘no’ to things which doesn’t feel like you at all
- dry brushing and giving yourself oil massages
- lighting candles and creating a cozy atmosphere
- doing a little at-home-faical-massage with oil and a gua sha
- be kind to yourself, tell yourself that you love yourself <3

How was your past week?
Monday called for work, but I really love my work, and I love that it is something I’m able to do from wherever I am – it’s so freeing.
I’ve been adding lots of healthy fats into my everyday diet lately after recommendation from Carolina
I went to the Botanical Garden with one of my best friends to take some pictures and get some tropical feeling into our bodies while it was minus degrees and snowing outside – always a good idea!
After going out into the snow again after having been to the Botanical Gardens we went straight to get some warm drinks <3
Speaking of the Botanical Garden, my own little “Botanical Garden” is also growing at home, and I love how much my Monstera is growing
Saturday called for work and my boyfriend’s mothers birthday, and Sunday called for pure relaxation with selfcare and serie-marathon with my boyfriend. You have to watch the serie “Manhunt: Unabomber”, it’s based on true events and it is so good and fascinating!

How was your past week?
I finally got my newly painted shelf up! So far I only have 2 plants on it, but I’m waiting for another one from my friend, and then I hope they grow long and big and hang all the way down from the shelf <3
I baked Carolina’s spelt buns, and I have also tried several different new things and changes in my diet and overall lifestyle after having a health consultation with Carolina <3
I received this beautiful “turtle bag” which I bought through Ilovegreen. I really like the concept of the turtle bag it’s made from organic natural fibres and it’s biodegradable. Turtle bags was made to protect the oceans, but as it says in the name also turtles. Many turtles mistake plastic bags in the ocean for jellyfish and eat them, and ends up getting plastic inside them and several die. That’s just so sad. Bring your own bag and ditch the plastic bags.
I’ve been fuelling myself with lots of this green smoothie! I try to drink one every single day to get lots of green and fibers in my body <3
Sunday I spent my morning in spa with my mom. I love this. A combination of taking good care of your body, relaxing and talking and spending time with my mom <3 After that we were completely relaxed and ate some lunch and then home where I pretty much fell asleep on the couch – perfect Sunday, if you ask me.

The past week was filled with dinner and playing “Hint” with my friends (have you tried it? It’s so much fun!), lots of studying and reading, lots of time for indoor selfcare and drinking tea while it was snowing and being reallyyyy cold outside. Café date with my mom, more reading and café coziness with my friends, work and Sunday was spent pretty much on the long side on the couch relaxing, drinking tea, eating homemade vegan cinnamon rolls (but I did also paint a shelf, which is now above my desk and is going to be filled with plants)!

Monday evening my friends and I made dinner together (recipe by Piece of Plants), and played ‘Hint’ <3
I’ve been drinking tons of tea because of this cold, cold weather we currently have in Denmark (or, all of Europe it seems like?)
I’ve been dry brushing, as always, before a lovely shower. Best thing every – it removes dead skins cells and gets your lymphatic system going!
I still love this homemade face cream, and tongue scraping. There’s just something about small everyday rituals which makes you feel really good <3
Sunday I baked homemade vegan cinnamon rolls (recipe from Mia Sommer’s cookbook ‘Vegansk Velvære’; but I tried to make them into rolls instead of buns). I would not say that they aesthetically was so successful, but as with all other things in life – it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and they sure tasted delicious! And Sunday was also the day that Sustain Yearly ended their crowdfunding campaign, and with 35.000 DKKR extra! So amazing, can’t wait to get the magazine in April!

I’ve been to school, studying, photographing Copenhagen with one of my best friends, relaxing and taking time for selfcare, studying with one of my other best friends, watched Atlantis with my boyfriend and been to my cousins birthday – lovely week.
How was your past week?
This week my friend and I went to a certain part of Copenhagen to take pictures and enjoy the city. It was freezing cold, but still beautiful!
I also took time to just be still, do some selfcare, drink some tea and relax. I really try my best that whenever I start to feel overwhelmed with things to do – instead of doing more, I try to take some time to relax and calm down. And once I’m calm and relaxed again I can usually handle much more and without feeling any kind of stress <3
Saturday I had a lovely study day with one of my best friends – just reading a lot, drinking chai latte, talking and eating lunch <3
Later that Saturday I came home and my boyfriend and I made some green smoothies, cuddled up on the couch with a blanket and watched the ‘Atlantis’ movie – lovely evening!
The past week has been filled with lots of studying, great time with one of my best friends, coming home to valentines day to find that my boyfriend had bought me flowers and chocolate (so sweet, but I might have hinted it a bit too much, cause that is the first time in 5 years that that happens, nevertheless I’m so grateful and I love him so much) and I’ve been on a lovely yoga retreat with Cathrine on Samsø over the weekend <3
As you might have seen on Instagram, I’ve started tongue scraping and it’s incredibly satisfying once you first begin
I’ve also tried to make my very own face cream, and it turned out really well, it’s so thick and moisturising, perfect for dry winter skin!
I spend the weekend in this beautiful place (Mellem-Rummet) at Samsø on a yoga retreat held by Cathrine, and a lot of kind and loving people. We ate lots of delicious, healthy vegan food, practiced yoga, relaxed, drank herbal teas and just had time to just be. So lovely!

How was your past week?
After having returned home from holiday I’m so happy to be back to green smoothies, green teas, matcha lattes and lots of healthy food! I simply just love and enjoy filling my body with good, nourishing food!
I’ve started school again, and luckily I have some pretty interesting courses, fx one about consumer culture and buying behaviours – highly interesting
I’ve been reading a loot of homeworks and had classes, but I’ve of course also found time for some relaxing self-care time. Always remember to take time to stress down and relax – otherwise you’ll run out of energy and will not be able to do any of all of the things you want to <3
I’ve also been listening to some lovely podcasts (Emma Martiny’s and Connie Chapman’s), and been reflecting and journalling
I’m back home from my skiing trip! And waauw, it was amazing. To be honest, I did not have high expectations that I would like to ski, because I normally hate cold weather and I can be a bit scared of high hills. But, it was such a great experience!
Me and my boyfriend’s littlebrothers girlfriend were both newbies on ski, so we was on skiing school and had a private instructor for the 2 hours the first 4 days, and we learned SO much.
I completely forgot how good it feels to throw yourself outside your comfort zone and try something new. Now we can both ski on green and blue slopes (and we also tried half a red slope!). So my view the past week has looked like what you see on the pictures, and lots of yatzy, games, warm drinks and a great time!
We were in La Rosiére in France and it was so beautiful! Almost all days (except 1) it was sunny and the most beautiful sky, and skiing down a big mountain with this view was just incredible
(Ps, for everyone going to travel by plane from Copenhagen (Kastrup) Airport, you can bring your own empty water bottle through security and then refill it in a cold tap in the toilets at gate B, the first ones you come across when going through gate B. Just a little tip to save money and some water bottles!)
