EVERYDAY HAPPINESS

It’s Monday and time to look back at the past week which consisted of a lot of homeworks and exam preparation, but also time to relax and drink lots of tea and matcha latte’s!

Last week I wrote a blog post about Apple Cider Vinegar hair rinse to make the transition period from conventional shampoo to shampoo bar easier – and I’m still loving how soft my hair gets after I use it in the shower!

Speaking of Apple Cider Vinegar, I’ve also tried to make my own ACV toner for my face which I’m currently using every evening and I really like it so far – update will come later!

I’ve started to look more into Bullet Journals and writing down and tracking lots of things, if you have a good bullet journal ‘theme’, then please share it with me!

This is how I’ve spend most of my days the past week – cozy socks and matcha latte and reading homeworks!

I visited LØS market to stuck up on a few things, and don’t “zero waste” grocery shopping just look amazing? I’m completely in love with it!

I’ve also been eating hella-healthy the past week, after having been so inspired by the book WomanCode which I’m currently reading. I’m feeling amazing after having followed some of the flo-living guidelines in the book (fx keeping your blood sugar stable by eating regularly), and I’ve been so inspired that my lunch and dinner have looked like the above plate for most of the past few days!

How was your past week? And are you up to anything great for this week?

GREEN SHOPS IN COPENHAGEN

BUY IN BULK (LØS MARKET)

I have found a wonderful store! It’s called LØS market, and is a place where you can buy groceries in bulk. The concept is so brilliant. It’s all about minimizing the amount of trash. You might know the feeling of buying so much plastic whenever you are in your local supermarket because almost everything is wrapped in plastic! But you can avoid all this plastic by buying in bulk. When you buy in bulk you can bring your own glasses and containers and fill up.

When you buy bulk you start with weighing your own glass so you know how much it weighs and in that way you do not have to pay for the weight of the glas, but only what you have filled in it. I can definitely recommend visiting LØS market if you are in Copenhagen, or if you are interested in finding a place which sells in bulk you can check out this site.

You can find LØS market at Saxogade 77, 1662 Copenhagen V.

TRYING TO LIVE ZERO WASTE

After having gotten very inspired by Lauren Singer (and a lot of other cool zero waste people), I’ve gotten really hooked on trying to do something about producing less trash myself. We produce so much trash each and every single day, and it is hurting our planet. I want to do something about that, and to begin with I can try to reduce my plastic consumption.

I’ve already started looking into different places in Copenhagen where I can buy groceries without using plastic (fx LØS market, Torvehallerne, ASA spices) and products for the body (Isangs) – and I cannot wait to pay a visit to these stores! Besides that there are the simple everyday things which you can start to think about. Fx bringing your own reusable bag when going to buy groceries, bringing a glass jar with you when you want a smoothie, juice, tea or coffee to-go, or bring your own reusable water bottle with you to fill up. There are so many things you can do in your everyday, small things, but which matters in the long run!

I’m probably going to write a lot more posts about this, because I’m still very green to this, and I want to share (and maybe inspire) my experiences with you.

Yesterday I tried bringing my own glass jar with me to a store to get my juice in it. And I did get it in the glass, but there was too much juice and I therefore got the rest in a plastic cop. Not so successful, but at least I have learned to bring a bigger glass jar next time. Today I failed once again. I went to buy groceries and I did consciously not put my fruits and vegetables in a plastic bag, but then went I went to pay, the cashier lady putted my fruits and greens in a plastic bag. So you really have to pay attention, because there is plastic everywhere.

I hope that you are all doing wonderful! It’s been so long since I’ve made a blog post, and that is because I’m busy with exam preparations at the moment. But I have SO many ideas for blog posts, so look forward to that – and until then you can check out my Instagram where I update more often.

Environment Inspirering people

VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLAR

I’ve been listening and learned a lot more about a zero-waste lifestyle for the past week, and I’m really hooked on the idea about decreasing the amount of trash I make. And that is a bigger challenge, because just when you buy groceries everything is wrapped in plastic! It’s actually kind of scary so hard it can be to avoid. But I’ve listened to some very inspirering people and I want to try it out and share my experiences in here.

Along with my learning about zero-waste, I’ve also become more aware of the concept ‘vote with your dollar’. This means that you spend your money in those stores/concepts that you want to support. Fx buying organic, buying soy candles instead of regular ones, buying tree or steel items instead of plastic etc. I’ve become much more aware of this, and I really want to spend my money in stores I think do good.

Just look at this picture and how much plastic there is right there? Therefore I want to start buying more of my food from fx LØS market and the stands at Torvehallerne or other smaller markets.
