Tjene penge! Bruge min intelligens!

Uden en back up plan, hvilket var særdeles skræmmende!

Uden tvivl meditation.

THE BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

I’ve been incorporating meditation into my morning practice more and more during the last couple of months. Not only do I feel amazing, there are lots of good reasons to do it. Therefore I want to talk the benefits of meditation 🙏✨

During the last couple of months I’ve added a little meditation into my morning routine, and it feels amazing. Meditating is such an easy way to start your day in a calm and relaxing way. I do different types of meditations, sometimes I just put on some very relaxing music on youtube while meditating, other days I go for a guided meditation and sometimes I put on some positive affirmations (read by Louise Hay) while meditating.

Not only is it a soothing and relaxing practice, there are actually many health benefits to gain from meditating, and that’s what I want to share with you today.

Benefits of Meditation

Reduces Stress

Can Help Control Anxiety

Can Lead to Better Emotional Health & Well-Being

Improves Your Concentration

May Improve Your Memory

Improves Your Happiness

Improves Sleep

Can Reduce Blood Pressure

Strengthens the Immunesystem

Reduces Depression

Have you gotten inspired to start meditating? As with all things, whenever you need to implement new habits – remember to make it easy and simple for yourself. Don’t expect yourself to go from never meditating to suddenly meditating for 20-30 minutes every single day. Start small. Try meditating 3-5 minutes every morning for a month.

Then overtime you can always increase how long you meditate. But start small – and remember, it is something you do for yourself. Think about that every time you sit down, think about how you’re doing a good thing for yourself and your mental health and well-being 🙏✨

BOOK RECOMMENDATION – BREAKING THE HABIT OF BEING YOURSELF

If you are into meditation and how to use your thoughts and frequencies to create a new reality for yourself, then you’re going to absolutely love this book! The book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza

This book is all about how you can use meditation and going into your subconscious mind to recreate yourself. It’s so fascinating, and Joe Dispenza really dives deep into how we can use meditation on a whole other level.

What I really love about the book is how he describes it, with facts and figures and everything and explains wave lengths and frequencies of the brain. It’s really taking meditation and working with your subconscious mind to a whole other level, and it really is ‘mind-blowing’ so to say.

He highlights the fact that if you want to change your life, you can only do so by first becoming aware of what it is about your current life/reality that you do not like. You can become aware of this by meditation and be consciously paying attention to yourself and your own thoughts and behaviours. From here, you can then start to work on replacing your current reality with a new one.

It’s so fascinating, and it has already given me an even bigger boost to dive even more into my meditation routine. I’m currently following the 4-week program that is at the end of the book, and I’m so excited about diving further into my own subconscious mind.

Quotes from the book:

“We have, within our reach, all we need to make significant changes in our lives”

“The true purpose of meditation is to get beyond the analytical mind and enter into the subconscious mind so you can make real and permanent changes”

“What you think and believe has a profound effect on your world”

“We communicate with the quantum field primarily through our thoughts and feelings”

“If your thoughts determine your reality, and you keep thinking the same thoughts (which are a product and reflection of the environment), then you will continue to produce the same reality day after day”

Have you read any interesting books lately? As always, I would love to hear about it! Or perhaps you’ve already read this book? Then let me know, what are your thoughts about it?

GLOBAL MASS MEDITATION

In these times, sending out loving and good thoughts can do more than we are even aware of. Take part in the Global Mass Meditation on April 4/5, 2020. Let’s spread the light 🙏✨

I got aware of this event through Jill on Instagram (which I btw will highly recommend following if you’re into spirituality, growth, meditation etc.), and I thought it was such a beautiful initiative, that I highly want to support and take part in myself.

The event is a Global Mass Meditation that will happen on April 4/5, 2020. The idea is to heal the world from the current virus we’re affected by. Whether you believe in the concept of healing or not, I still find the concept of sending all the love and health out into this world, to be a beautiful thing.

What we focus on grows. I’ve said it many times, and I completely believe this. What we give our attention to is what will grow.

I will for sure take part in this, and meditate during this weekend with a focus on sending love, health and healing out into this world. I hope you will take part in this as well. Send me a message on Instagram, or comment below, if you want to join this beautiful event as well – let’s light up this world 🙏✨

Ps, if you find it hard to meditate in complete silence, I recommend searching for ‘Binaural Beats’ on Youtube and you can find the most beautiful pieces of music to listen to while meditating, which can also help to elevate your frequency ✨

3 PRACTICES TO HELP YOU RELAX & TUNE INTO YOURSELF

Sometimes we can become very overwhelmed and feeling stressed by having too many things going on. At these points in time, it can be very helpful to have some practices to help you relax & tune into yourself, which can help calm your mind and nervous system. So today I want to share 3 of these practices with you, which I personally use to help to tune into myself, relax and calm my mind.

Yoga

Yoga is an amazing way to help you to tune into yourself. Sometimes we spend too much time in our head, worrying, stressing, overthinking etc. And then it can be so helpful to come from our heads and into our bodies instead. Yoga is a form of practice which can definitely help you to connect your mind and body, and to help you calm down and help you to tune more into yourself.

If you want to calm down I can recommend some more restorative yoga, or Yin Yoga, which are very calming practices. However, sometimes moving your body some more can be exactly what you need, and when that is the case, you can look into trying some Hatha or Vinyasa yoga.

Meditation

One of the easiest ways to tune into yourself is to meditate. You can literally meditate wherever you are. All you need to do is to close your eyes and breathe and just let your thoughts come and go. Just focus on your breath, tune into yourself and relax. You can also practice mindfulness, which is being present wherever you are – whether that be doing the dishes, cleaning the house, driving in train or anything else. Just be present, breathe and be where you are.

Be in Nature

Sometimes, one of the best ways to relax and tune into yourself, is to go for a walk, or just be, in nature. Just feeling the sun on your skin, feeling the fresh air in your hair, listening to the birds sing, feeling the ground beneath you. Just getting grounded and being present in the now.

Do you have any practices that always help you to relax & tune into yourself? Feel free to share them in the comments, and let us all inspire each other.

MY MORNING ROUTINE

Having a morning routine is a great way to start the day on a more calm and positive note, which can mean that the rest of your day turns out a lot better, than if you just jump out of bed and go straight to work. I’ve finally found a morning routine that is simple and easy, but also makes me feel so much better after I’ve done it, so today I want to share my morning routine with you.

If you are into self development, which you probably are if you are following along in here, then you might already know this, you will quiet possibly have discovered that many ‘successful people’ (read: successful in terms of reaching the goals they had sat for themselves, because we should not define success on X amount of money or anything like that, but rather on succeeding in reaching your own dreams) have morning routines. A morning routine sets you up for a great start to the day, and that great start has an amazing influence on how the rest of your day turns out – because if you start of well, you’ll fell happier and more at peace, and you’ll be ready for whatever the day brings you!

I’ve been trying for years to create a morning routine that I could stick to, but as a ‘vata’ person (read my blogposts about ayurveda if you don’t know what I’m talking about), I have a hard time sticking to routines – but, routines are actually what is really good for people like me, because it helps to keep me grounded and make sure that I actually get things done. And now I’ve finally found a morning routine which is simple, easy and manageable, and which makes me extremely happy and calm – it’s the perfect way to start the day!

My morning routine

Wake up

First thing first, I gotta wake up. During the week it’s usually around 6.30/7

Tongue scraping

Then as the first thing I go to the bathroom and I scrape my tongue with a tongue scraper. I scrape my tongue around 10 times.

Wash face & lotion

Then I wash my face with water and moisturise my face with some oil/lotion.

Tea & Affirmation Meditation

Afterwards I go to the kitchen and make myself a cup of green tea. I take the tea with me into the living room, get myself cozy under a blanket and find a random page in my book “You can!” by Louise Hay, which is a book filled with affirmations. I set my phone on the timer for 5 minutes and read through some of the affirmations and do some meditations with focus on these lovely affirmations – it’s an amazing way to start the day, and it really just warms and lights me up!

Here are some of my favourite affirmations:

“There are possibilities everywhere. I have an abundance of choices”

“I know I can create miracles in my life”

“My potential is unlimited”

“Life ensures that all my needs are met with abundance. I trust in life”

“When I forgive myself it becomes easier to forgive others”

“When I change my thoughts, the world around me changes”

“I am grateful for my healthy body. I love life”

Gratitude list

After meditation I bring out my journal and write around a page of all kind of things I’m grateful for, from the smallest to the biggest things. The most important thing is that I take time to really feel gratitude after having written the things down.

(Yoga)

Around 3-4 times a week I also do some yoga after the above little morning routine, to stretch and connect with my body.

Then I make myself some breakfast, and finish off with brushing my teeth. It’s a really simple morning routine, and without the yoga it only takes around 20 minutes or so, but it really ensures that I start my day on a much better note than if I just went straight out of bed and onto what the day held.

That was my morning routine. Do you have a morning routine? Or would you like to implement one? Then try to start with just one thing you want to do each morning, and then you can always add more things on later.

Health

THE POWER OF BREATHING

Today I want to talk about the Power of Breathing. Breathing, it is usually something we tend to just take for granted. However, there truly is power in breathing. Not only have the power of breathing, ‘pranayama’, been well-known for thousands of years through yoga, meditation and Chinese Medicine, but the Western medicine has also done studies now proving the benefits of deep breathing.

Have you ever paid attention to your breath during different times of your life?

Perhaps before doing something you are nervous about, fx a performance or before an exam. You feel those small, quick breaths and it can almost come to the point where you feel like you’re going to choke because of your own unsteady breath. If you have ever been in an exam situation, you might have felt the power of breathing. Have you ever tried to put your focus on your breath and tried to breathe more slowly, and then you started to feel more relaxed? I know I have certainly done this several times, and it always seems to help and calm me down.

If you feel stressed, it might be because you are not taking the time to really breath deep. If you are feeling stressed, try to take just a few seconds, perhaps just 10 breaths, and really deep breath and slow. Take a really deep breath and fill your lungs with air, and take 10 of these breaths – and feel the change in your body and mind.

Remember to breathe. It is after all the secret to life” – Gregory Maguire

When you breath shallow breaths, the lowest portion of the lungs never gets fully filled with air. This can make you feel short of breath and make you feel anxious. However, deep abdominal breathing fill your lungs up with oxygen – and this type of breathing slows your heartbeat and can lower or stabilise blood pressure (Harvard Health Publishing).

Deep breathing can

  • help lower blood pressure
  • help lower stress
  • help with digestive problems
  • help with insomnia
  • calm you down

Breathing right is unquestionably the single most important thing you can do to improve your life. It will help you to live a longer more energetic and stress-free life” – Dr. Sheldon Helder

How to do it?

You can fx try to every night before you go to bed, to take 10 deep breaths. You can also try to add meditation or yoga to your life, or just some conscious breathing every single day.
It seems like such a simple thing, yet we often forget about it. I know I do, I tend to not breathe really deep, but rather small breaths, or sometimes I just discover that I’m almost holding my breath, especially if I’m working on something. So I find it so important to get a more mindful practice, and really consciously make an effort to take some full, deep breaths for my own health.

So hereby, a little reminder – the next time you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or you just want to do something good for your health, slow down – sit still and take a couple of deep breaths. Fill your lungs up with fresh air, and focus on your breathing – it really does wonders!

EVERYDAY HAPPINESS

The past week has been filled with lots of studying, great time with one of my best friends, coming home to valentines day to find that my boyfriend had bought me flowers and chocolate (so sweet, but I might have hinted it a bit too much, cause that is the first time in 5 years that that happens, nevertheless I’m so grateful and I love him so much) and I’ve been on a lovely yoga retreat with Cathrine on Samsø over the weekend <3

As you might have seen on Instagram, I’ve started tongue scraping and it’s incredibly satisfying once you first begin

I’ve also tried to make my very own face cream, and it turned out really well, it’s so thick and moisturising, perfect for dry winter skin!

I spend the weekend in this beautiful place (Mellem-Rummet) at Samsø on a yoga retreat held by Cathrine, and a lot of kind and loving people. We ate lots of delicious, healthy vegan food, practiced yoga, relaxed, drank herbal teas and just had time to just be. So lovely!

MY FAVOURITE PODCASTS ABOUT HEALTH AND SPIRITUALITY

The Melissa Ambrosini Show

Awaken Radio

Everyday Ayurveda and Yoga at Hale Pule

The Spa Dr

The Melissa Ambrosini Show

This is an old favourite, which I’ve already shared several times on the blog. But, if you do not know about it, Melissa Ambrosini interviews a lot of different people and you get so much new knowledge. There is especially focus on health, but it also touches upon subjects such as relationships, self development and much more.

Awaken Radio

This is a new favourite of mine. The podcast is made by Connie Chapman (which btw has the most lovely Instagram account!). Connie’s voice is so soothing and calm, and this podcast has focus on health, but also a lot of spirituality – which I’m loving these days.

Everyday Ayurveda and Yoga at Hale Pule

I’ve become very fascinated with ayurveda (read more about it here), and in this podcast you get information and everyday tips and tricks on how to implement the ayurvedic lifestyle into your everyday life. HEALTHY HABIT – MEDITATION

A new week has begun and that means time for getting started on a new healthy habit! Just a little sum up from last weeks healthy habit, which was to go outside each day for the following week. I didn’t completely succeed. But I got out for a walk for 5 days through the week, and the two remaining I did not feel like it at all. But I’m still very happy that I came outside so much, despite snow and cold weather. It might not be the right season to establish that healthy habit, but I’m still super happy that I got outside and got some fresh air in my face. So further on I will not go for a walk every single day, but I’ll try to get as much outside as possible and just enjoy the nature and the fresh air.

But now until this weeks healthy habit!

The other healthy habit that I want to establish is; to meditate.

I would like to meditate more often. I’ve been trying to meditate once in a while, but never enough to fully gain the benefits of it and feel it on myself. But there are a lot of benefits to meditating daily, that it’s almost crazy not to do it.

My thought is that I want to meditate each day this week for at least 10 minutes. And further on, I hope to keep on meditating, so that I can feel the many benefits of it.

Benefits of meditation:

It can reduce stress.

It can improve concentration.

It can increase happiness and self-awareness.

It can boost your immune system.

I hope some of you would like to join this new healthy habit, and try out meditating daily for this week!
