HEALTHY HABIT – STRETCH EVERYDAY

So it is time for a new week with a new healthy habit! But as always, first a little sum up of last week’s healthy habit, which was to monitor what I was spending my money on during the week. And wow, I’ve realized how expensive caffe latte/chai latte’s are, and how much of a prize difference there can be in different places. One day I got a caffe latte with almond milk for 54(!) DKKR, and the next day I got a chai latte for only 25 DKKR. So yes, if you want to save some money, it could be worth it to find places which sells the things you buy regularly for just a little smaller amount. But it has been good to keeping track of what I’m spending my money on, and it has stopped me a few times for just buying a thing.

But now time for this weeks healthy habit!

The habit I want to establish for this week is; to stretch my body each day!

This I want to do to keep my body flexible and healthy. You can also read this post, to see some of my reasons for doing so.

My thought is to stretch each day for about 10 minutes (gladly more as well). I already almost do this every single day, but sometimes I forget about it. So I want to do this for everyday during this week.

If you want to get more flexible, and keep your body fresh, please take part in this healthy habit!

STRETCH YOUR BODY

“Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live“.

I’ve throughout all of my childhood and most of my youth been dancing, several times a week. So I’ve always felt really flexible as I was younger. I stopped dancing in my 3rd year of high school, and since then I’ve mainly been focusing on strength and condition training in the gym, or running outside. In the beginning I didn’t think much about that I became less flexible, but about 2 weeks ago, I realized how inflexible I had become. Which is very obvious, because if you don’t practice flexibility, you will get less flexible.

I’ve never had any problems with touching my toes when I was stretching, but suddenly I noticed, that this started to get harder. I could not live with that, so since I realized that I’ve been doing some small stretching exercises every morning. Not that many, but just a little bit every day. Besides that I’ve planned together with my friend to take a yoga class at least once a week.

I want to keep my body in in shape both when it comes to condition and shape, but also when it comes to flexibility. “Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live”. This quote reminds me of, time after time, which choices I need to take in my life. I want my body to function, be healthy and well throughout all of my life – also when I am 80 years old!

So remember to move your body, and take care of it – but also remember to enjoy life!
