Why you should choose natural products

Today I want to talk a bit about the importance of choosing as natural products as possible, for your body and your health. I have through many years – especially my teenage years – tried so many different products for my face, body and hair. I always wanted to have beautiful skin and all the girl magazines advertised about hundreds of products, and when you didn’t know any better at that time, you just tried almost anything to make it work – and it just didn’t.
Then I wanted to have lighter hair, so for a couple of years I got some light hair stripes in it and I was really happy for it at that time – until my hair started to get really dry, and I decided to stop with getting it colored, since it is really damaging for your hair.

While I read and learn more and more about health in connection to what you should eat to get a healthy body, I have also learned that what you eat is helping you to get a healthier and more beautiful looking skin (and hair). After being aware of this, I have also started to get more aware of that what I put on the outside of my skin as well is just as important as what I put inside of my body. The skin is one big organ, and it consumes what you put on it from the outside as well – even if it is make-up, moisturizers, cleansing products, hairproducts etc.

Therefore I have begun to, most important of all, eat healthier for my health and for my skin’s sake. But I have also started to replace almost all my face-, skin- and hair products with more natural ones, to take good care of my skin and protect it. I am still new in all of this and I still do not know exactly what to avoid when reading the ingredient list on the products, therefore I am trying to choose brands which I know is very natural (often I find these brands in health stores) and also brands which are cruelty free, free from parabenes and parfumes.

What do you think about choosing natural products for your skin? And if you do so, which products can you recommend? I would love to hear about new natural products!
